In Austin’s Lost Creek neighborhood, O’Hara Interiors reinvigorates a primary suite with posh personality.

For this Austin homeowner, her primary suite remodel meant that her home could anticipate her needs, reflect her personality, and refine daily rituals. Tucked into the prestigious Lost Creek neighborhood, her longtime residence was ready for its next chapter. Partnering with Collard Carpentry, O’Hara Interiors transformed the primary suite from a series of disconnected, utilitarian spaces into a private retreat where form and function meet in perfect balance. 

The homeowner, inspired by our work on Instagram, reached out with architectural plans for a project that was already underway. From there, OHI lead designer Tatum Madden infused each space with purpose, sophistication, and enduring style. This Austin remodel encompassed a spa-like bathroom, a bespoke closet, and updates to the bedroom – along with two distinct additions tailored to her lifestyle: a yoga studio and a gift-wrapping station.

Every selection in this Austin remodel centered on the homeowner’s distinctive vision and lifestyle. The striking emerald green quartzite counters were chosen for the way they anchor the entire design, a color that is echoed in the oversized penny tile of the walk-in shower, creating a sense of continuity. Fluted white oak cabinetry and floating shelves on the expanded vanity provide a sense of warmth and generous storage for haircare products and beauty tools, while the diamond-patterned floor tile evokes the elegance of the homeowner’s favorite European hotels. Throughout the space, a curated mix of silver, gold, and rose gold finishes adds a subtle layer of sophistication.

Just beyond the bathroom lies a custom-designed closet – one of the project’s most tailored expressions of luxury. Every inch was meticulously planned to organize and display the client’s wardrobe and accessories, transforming a storage space into a fashion-forward experience. At its center, the island was crafted to the exact dimensions of her luggage, turning the simple act of packing and unpacking for frequent travel into a centering ritual. 

The home’s sense of livable luxury continues in two highly personalized spaces. The gift-wrapping station, finished in a hue reminiscent of Tiffany Blue, is a playful yet refined nod to one of the client’s favorite brands. Steps away, the new yoga room extends this same palette into a calming sanctuary designed for daily movement and mindfulness. Bathed in natural light and free from distractions, this space is energizing in the morning and restorative at day’s end.
