You’ve spent over eight years building your reputation as one of Austin’s top interior designers. Can you share your career journey and what led you to become a leading designer in Austin, Texas?

After earning my degree in design and moving to Austin, I found my place at O’Hara Interiors first as a design assistant and now as a senior designer. Over the years, I’ve grown through every aspect of business and design, from hands-on creative work to leading client relationships and mentoring our team. The most rewarding part of my work is collaboration. Partnering with builders, architects, and artisans who share our commitment to excellence allows me to create homes that feel effortless for our clients. The relationships I build with my team over time make all the difference, helping us anticipate one another’s needs and deliver exceptional results.

You were recently recognized as one of Designers Today’s 40 Under 40 in interior design. What does this mean to you?

It’s a huge compliment and I’m very thankful! Being recognized like this affirms the years of dedication and the passion I’ve poured into my work with Austin’s best interior design firm. What means the most, though, is knowing that my clients feel seen, heard, and inspired through their experience working with me. Their trust allows me to introduce new art pieces, layer bold patterns, and create unexpected color stories. This inspires me to keep pushing boundaries in interior design.

You’ve been leading O’Hara Interiors expansion into coastal projects. How have you become a top interior designer in Port Aransas, Rockport, and South Padre Island?

Communication is critical to keeping vacation property projects on track, especially from a distance. I tailor my approach for each client, but I’ve found that biweekly check-ins with both the client and on-site build partners keep everyone aligned. I also make it a point to stay highly accessible from the very beginning of the project to build trust and streamline decision-making. When I’m on-site, I maximize each visit with two full days of focused meetings to drive efficiency.

From a technical standpoint, coastal conditions require smart material selection. The humidity and salt air influences everything from exterior finishes to outdoor furniture, so durability and longevity are top priorities. Drawing from our extensive resources in Austin, I’m able to bring the same level of service and craftsmanship to these coastal projects while designing for a more relaxed, outdoor-driven lifestyle.

What are you seeing for design trends in 2026?

Looking ahead to 2026, we’re seeing a continued focus on personalization and experience-driven spaces and rooms that reflect a client’s passions in a refined, functional way. In Austin, for example, we’ve been designing a number of custom bourbon bars and temperature-controlled display rooms. Each one is completely tailored to the client, often blending hidden storage with artful presentation. It’s about creating something that feels indulgent yet intentional, a space that celebrates their lifestyle while maintaining the discretion and security they expect.

Whether you’re dreaming of a coastal retreat or a modern urban oasis in Austin, connect with the O’Hara Interiors design team to discuss how we can bring your vision to life.
