A Year of High-End Interior Design with O’Hara Interiors
A look back at the projects, partnerships, and people that shaped O’Hara Interiors’ most exciting year yet.
As O’Hara Interiors approaches nearly 40 years in practice, 2025 is a turning point in our company’s history of high-end interior design. CEO and Creative Director Kate O’Hara told Business of Home earlier this year, “growth demands trust,” and our team embraced that ethos by expanding into new markets, establishing new partnerships, and pursuing ambitious opportunities that showcase the breadth of our design expertise. This year, our body of work spans primary residences in Minnesota and Texas to vacation properties from Maine to Mexico, with each home showcasing our signature equilibrium between style and lifestyle. Here are our top three highlights from a year with O’Hara Interiors:
1.) Interior Design in Dallas and on the Gulf Coast
It’s been a pivotal year for growth in Texas. Lead Designer Tatum Madden and Design Assistant Sophie Embry relocated to Dallas, formally establishing O’Hara Interiors’ presence in the Dallas–Fort Worth market. This strategic expansion allows us to better serve our clients across North Texas while deepening our relationships within the region’s talented design and build community. The move was featured in The Dallas Morning News, highlighting O’Hara Interiors’ approach to high-end interior design across Texas. Our whole team, across our studios, is excited to share new inspiration and resources from this world-class design city!
2.) Celebrating Design Commendations & Community
Great work is possible through great partnerships, and this year, our team focused on expressing appreciation for our partners. Throughout the year, our team prioritized events and collaborations that brought the design community together, from our first-ever Pitch & Putt, to Sip n Style gatherings in Dallas, and several golf events. In Minneapolis, we hit our stride with our panel series at founder Martha O’Hara’s home, creating space for authentic connection and shared knowledge. These moments of collaborative exchange across regions and disciplines inspire us to dream bigger, design smarter, and serve homeowners who value exceptional interior design.
Recognition followed in ways that felt especially resonant because it honored the people behind this work. Senior Designer Heather Chadwick was named a Designers Today 40 Under 40 honoree, highlighting her leadership on homes in Austin and vacation retreats along the Texas coast. In Minnesota, Senior Designer Gabe Lindberg received an Excellence in Interior Design award from Housing First Minnesota, a reflection of her long-standing partnerships with the state’s top custom builders. As a firm, O’Hara Interiors was also once again named one of the Best Interior Design Firms by Austin Home Magazine in Texas and by Lake Minnetonka Magazine and Edina Magazine in Minnesota, honors that underscore our dedication to design excellence in these key communities.
3.) The Interior Design That Defined 2025
Several projects stood out as indicators of where high-end interior design is headed in 2026. High-end interior design is increasingly complex, requiring close collaboration with custom builders to ensure design, architecture, and craftsmanship are fully aligned at all stages of the build. That approach is evident in The Modern Homestead, a Midwest Design Magazine cover story, as well as in the Birch Bluff Modern Cottage, whose design is emblematic of homeowner’s growing interest in one-level living that prioritizes longevity without sacrificing style.
Clients today also expect homes to support how they live, not just how spaces look. At the Hill Country Estate in Dripping Springs, the design was guided by the land itself, with interiors that frame expansive views and blur indoor and outdoor living, earning the project recognition as a finalist for the 2026 Home & Design Awards.
In Austin, the Lost Creek Remodel feature lifestyle-driven spaces, including a gift-wrapping room and yoga studio. The evocative blues and greens in the primary bathroom are also seen in the bathrooms of the Birch Bluff Modern Cottage, both used in tight tile formations that give the room both a colorful and tactile aesthetic.
What’s Next for 2026?
The momentum of new endeavors settles into a new era of confidence that reassures the homeowners we’re designing for in 2026. We look forward to sharing new photoshoots from Dallas and along the Texas coast, while high-end interior design projects continue to take shape in our studio markets, as well as vacation homes in Detroit Lakes, Hayward, and South Padre Island. 2026 promises to be a year of continued growth, stewarding our industry and homeowner relationships, and designing beautiful homes from the Great Lakes to the Gulf Coast.
