How did you start your career in interior design?

“I’ve always been drawn to the arts – photography, drawing, painting – but I also have a very mathematical, analytical side. Interior design felt like the perfect blend of creativity and structure, allowing me to explore both sides of my personality. When Kate O’Hara came across my resume, she reached out and introduced me to O’Hara Interiors, and I’ve been part of the team ever since.”

Who or what has influenced your design style the most?

“My background in art is the foundation of my design style. I am always drawn to color, impressionism, abstract forms, and texture. Travel is another huge influence, and I find endless inspiration in the hotels, galleries, and cultural details I experience in places like Mykonos, Cabo, and the Amalfi Coast. Even closer to home, I spend time in Vail and love how Western influences show up in the art and design there. All of these experiences find their way into my work.”

How do you get to know a client’s taste and lifestyle?

“I like to get to know my clients in a very natural way, almost like building a friendship. I ask about their family, how they spend their weekends, the places they love to shop, and even which designers inspire them. By understanding the details of their day-to-day life, I can intuitively piece together a design direction that feels authentic to them and aligned with their personal style.”

What are some custom design projects you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of?

“In Texas, we have a client who loves the Ferrari brand so we’re designing a custom sound-proof room color drenched in red for his race-car simulator.”

What defines Dallas design for you, and what makes it stand out in a unique way?

“Dallas design is elegant, traditional, and timeless. In neighborhoods like Highland Park, you’ll find beautiful historic homes with French-inspired interiors, crisp whites, paneled walls, and vibrant rooms that bring a touch of personality. What I love most about Dallas design is how it blends sophistication with warmth, creating spaces that reflect the city’s rich architectural history.”

What is your favorite way to spend a weekend in Dallas?

“On Saturday, I love to brunch at Toulouse Cafe, then shop at North Park or take my golden retriever for a walk at White Rock Lake. Then go out for dinner with friends on Greenville. And on Sunday, we go to church in Highland Park.”

With her creative eye and strong ties to the Dallas design community, Sophie is bringing a fresh perspective to interiors across the city. She is currently welcoming new projects in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and is excited to collaborate with clients who want to create spaces that feel both timeless and personal.
